How did the political development of England differ from that of France during the middle ages?
Q. A. The french kings were weakened by their attempts to conquer England. B. England did not develop a Common Law. C. England developed a tradition of making laws through a representative body. Thanks!!

A. The French had many other neighbouring countries to worry about apart from England. England would have France as the first landing point to comabat other European nations (Spain, etc). England could defend herself with the strength of the navy, while France had army strength. Intermarriage between French and English royalty tried to soften problems, but as marriages went bad, it only deepened resentment

A. Jay Demerit...not me but a guy who plays for Watford in the coca cola championship did what you want to do...I think you just need to get in the country and find one of the lower level teams and try out...league 2 or 3 might give you a try out...and there is always ebbsfleet united a team owned by the people...I can email them and see if they would hold some sort of try out. I also think John Spector did the same thing, but just check the internet on him. Anyway good luck and if you neen me to email ebbsfleet ( I am a owner) my email is nsuny242002@yahoo.com ohh..i you make it then the team should help you obtain a work visa which is something you cant get now.

What can England do to improve their performances in limited overs cricket?
Q. England have been abysmal at limited overs cricket for years. The last time they had a good team was in 1992, when they reached the World Cup Final. They play more limited overs cricket, domestically, than any other country. Yet they constantly seem to be playing catch up. What can they do to improve?
Asked by The Oracle - Mon Nov 3 13:36:29 2008 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. 2 major steps i would take * Play only 50 over cricket and 20 over cricket at domestic level (of course 4 day too, but no more 40 over or 45 over cricket) * Stop playing "One Day specialists" I have never seen the point of 40 or 45 over cricket. The only plus side is that the format fits neatly into a nice time period so the spectators can enjoy the game. As for the development of cricketers though! this type of cricket does nothing. No other country plays 40 over cricket, but for some strange reason in England we havent had a 50 over league in a long time. 40 over cricket is a completly different game compared to 50 overs. It doesn't help anyone. If your good enough to play Test cricket then your good enough to play ODI or T20 cricket. [cont.]

A. Check out Skype. You make calls from your computer. It's free if you are calling to another computer that has Skype and it's $0.021/minute to land lines and mobile phones. You can check out their prices in detail here:

A. Ok well a few tourist attractions are: London Tower Buckingham Palace Longleat Safari Park Thorpe Park Alton Towers Drayton Manor Blackpool Tower London Dungeons Madame Tussauds The London Eye Eden Camp As for jobs, students generally work in shops or bars/nightclubs After that, jobs are exactly the same as anywhere else in the world. Everything from Teachers, Nurses, Solicitors, Shop Assistants, Office administrators, hairdressers, Childcare assistants, you name it. The only jobs I can think of that are in England and nowhere else would probably be the Beefeaters and the Queens Guard.

A. Where will you be working?? The Cotswolds is an area of about the shape of a rough diamond in the heart of England stretching through the counties of Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Wiltshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire. The western edge forms the escarpment that overlooks the Severn Valley and the Vale of Evesham. This ridge gives the picture of hills seen from the valley floor as you travel along the M5 motorway. Yet, once on the top the land opens out into the rolling wolds and deep, wooded river valleys that make this one of the most beautiful areas in the UK. The Cotswolds is popular with both the English and visitors from all over the world, renowned for the gentle, picture puzzle; sleepy villages that are so typically… [cont.]

Asked by Mijeastar - Mon Feb 16 17:48:34 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I was not aware that you could obtain nationality based on a grandparent under Dutch law as it is only on the basis of a parent and not a grandparent - so you may want to double check this (if you do not have a passport already). Anyway, if you do have a Dutch passport, then yes you are able to travel and work in the UK without a visa. However, the recession has really hit the UK hard and employment is rising by the day. So again you may want to consider this before making a hasty decision. Good luck

A. I'm not sure where you are starting from. Obviously, Philadelphia and Washington have plenty to do and see. New York and Boston are great, naturally. We start getting into weather issues, depending on the time of year you'll be going. Cape Cod has some nice places. Newport, R.I., is pretty spectacular. The Maine coast is very pretty.

What age do people in England typically start college?
Q. I heard it was different from the US (age 18). How does it work? Like how many years of high school are there in England, and when do students typically start college?
Asked by Samantha (loves Conor Oberst) - Wed Feb 17 19:33:06 2010 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Secondary schools take students from the age of 11. There are "Sixth Form Colleges". Students start at 16 and leave at 18. There are also schools that educate students until they are 18. Typically, from 18-21, students can go to university to read for a degree. A PhD and some vocational qualifications take longer.

A. The UK does have a program where graduates of its universities can stay in the country under the "post study worker scheme". Here is info on all that: It is also possible that a UK employer would chose to hire you, and sponsor your work visa, but that is highly unlikely unless you study something that is in great demand.
