Q. do you think making things out of duct tape and selling them a good way to make money in the 6th grade? (i don't get an allowance)

A. Well... Just to let you know, you got to try very hard in order to pull that off... But if you want money, then there's a few easier way for a kid your age to get it. 1) Offer neighbours that knows and trusts you, To possibly water their plants or feed their animals if they are going to be away for little while. Or any other odd jobs that they may require you to do. 2) Collect as many cans and bottles as you could and recycle them at a recycle depot (ask someone older to help to make this easier to do) 3) If there's no soda machine in your school, then buy a 12 can box of Soda, and sell it for $1.00 per can. But if there is a Soda Machine, and if it's selling soda for $1 too, then sell yours for $0.90. OR you could sell candies to your… [cont.]

How much money has passed thru your hands in a lifetime?
Q. If you had to guesstimate on average, including birthday money from relatives, your income from your job, graduation money, money from selling items, tax refunds, - not including credit cards, just cash, checks, and deposits into your checking accts. Money that has always been rightfully yours... How much do you think has passed through your hands. Give me a numeric answer. Would you consider yourself to be a millionaire today if you had saved it?

A. I would say around 40-50k. It was my first time cash out $4,000 in cash from the bank last week from my online business too. LoL It is nice to see they count $100 40 times. xD Not a millionaire yet but soon will be if I keep banking this much with my online venture. If you are interest, just drop me a message :)

How much money does the Treasury typically print?
Q. They must add money to the system to account for a growing population and the international trade deficit. How much money does the Treasury typically print to counter this? If the answer is--'They Don't', then the printing of money now for the 'bailout' is a forgone conclusion to the ongoing loss of money per US capita. I'm not talking about Money Supply as it relates to the Fed's adjustments to Velocity. I'm talking about the actually physical loss of money per capita as a result of an ongoing international trade deficit and a growing population.

A. They don't disclose specifics like that, but it is a bit more complicated. The treasury is responsible for balancing inflation. They add money, but the also take money of out circulation to counter inflation. They also are responsible for replacing damaged bills ect.

How much money can you save using solar pannels for electricity?
Q. I live in Hawaii and the cost of living is very high. I was wondering if I could save a bundle of money installing solar pannels for electricity instead of paying a monthly bill. I know it costs a lot of money to install solar pannels but in the long run inflation will just raise your bills like crazy. I heard in the mainland the cost of living is way cheaper and I am planning to move up there but will installing a solar pannel save me a lot of money if I live in the mainland?
Asked by Coogi - Thu Jun 3 02:59:12 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Solar saves money over a long period of time, if at all. If you plan to move soon, then it's not likely you will get your money back from installing a solar system of any kind. If you are in Honolulu, a solar water heater will pay for itself in 4 years, assuming it replaces an electric. Your electric rates are about 15 to 20 cents per kWh. If you're in rural Molokai and paying 50 cents, the payback will be faster. Try walking your neighborhood (or just use Google map, satellite view), and you'll probably see that about half the houses have solar. For solar electric, the case is less certain. Call a local solar company to get a quote. It will definitely take longer to pay back than solar hot water. Hawaii gets a lot of sun, but it… [cont.]

What is money and why does gold pertain to money?
Q. Ok, I know that my question is a confusing one, but why does gold have to be considered money? Why can't we use something more abundant for money so that everyone can be well off?
Asked by Jenni P - Wed Jul 2 02:27:38 2008 - - 4 Answers - 2 Comments

A. If we used something plentiful, say potatoes, as a form of currency then everyone would have so many potatoes that you would need an obscene amount of potatoes to get a car. Having poor people is a necessary part of capitalism. Otherwise the price of food would have no baseline and milk would cost $20 a gallon and keep skyrocketing. If it wasn't gold it would be something else. Like rubies. All greenbacks are supposed to have a gold equivalent.

How much money would you have to be paid to eat your pet?
Q. Say that money is no limit - I mean, for 10-trillion dollars you could use that money to invest in programs that save the lives of countless pets. Thus, by eating your own pet, you could save the pets of others. So, what would be the minimum amount of money you would require to eat your pet? Your choice of condiments.

who gives money to political parties to raise money for the campaign?
Q. I am just curious to know, who gives so much money for campaigning? According to Sheila Krumholz, the executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics, the presidential candidates alone have already raised more than $1.5 billion since the election cycle started in January 2007. Is that a joke? I know that to show ads on TV, they need some money but 1.5 BILLION is way too much.
Asked by bk - Thu Oct 23 00:38:08 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Yeah...lots of people campaign on a platform of campaign reform, but somehow...they always tend to forget about reform once elected. Money comes from Corporations and special interests, but alot of it is also individual donations. Obama actually sells his campaign signs and banners to supporters instead of giving them freebies, so that's a new way to raise money.

How much money should I give my daughter to spend on her birthday?
Q. So I decided I'm going to take my daughter out on a shopping spree and maybe go to a movie/have dinner for her 13th birthday with some friends. I don't want to give her too much money, but I don't want to give her not enough to buy anything she wants. So how much do you think I should give her? By the way, she doesn't get allowance, so she won't have any money to spend except for the money I give her myself.

How will we have money to support millions of more people in the future?
Q. How will the system of money work to keep from having an extremely disproprotionate balance of wealth and poverty if the rate of population growth continues to soar and we have many millions of more people in the future? Does the system of money have a mechanism built in to combat something like this? For instance, will more money be made (not currency) in order to support more people? What is money? Is it silver or what?
Asked by Jogol - Wed Jan 30 21:09:22 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Peoples labor will create more stuff so the size of the economy increases with the population. Central banks (the federal reserve in the US) increase the currency and credit available to support the economic growth. When money was based on the gold standard and the money supply was fixed, prices fell with increased production, but the economic growth rates were low compared to today. Most "money" is really credit or promises to pay and currency is the unit of measure. We make most of our payments with checks or credit cards, not cash. The population growth in the world is slowing down and is expected to stabilize in about 2050, If it were to continue to soar we would eventually run out of food and resources, but that is not expected to… [cont.]

How much money is appropriate to give a high school senior as a graduation present?

What can sending money possibly do to help the problem with polar bears?
Q. There are these commercials all over TV, made by the organization WWF(world wildlife foundation) and they want us to send money to "help" these polar bears that are dying due to global warming. How can sending money possibly help with global warming?! Shouldn't they be commercials for recycling or not driving a hummer or something that would really help? Aren't we just paying for more useless commercials? How would we stop global warming by sending them money? They don't elaborate on how we could help.

A. It will help by being able to pay enough Inuit hunters to betray their own people and say that they have noticed a decline in the Polar Bear population and that the Government must stop global warming. I think that the Inuit are too smart to actually let that happen, but you need money to try!

Can China create money out of thin air and lend it to another country to make money?
Q. Can China do this just like how banks create money out of thin air via debt? Assuming the US pays back the debt, China will be richer. But, if US defaulted, it doesn't matter to China because they just conjured up the money in the first place.
Asked by sonyboy812 - Tue Apr 1 18:47:42 2008 - - 3 Answers - 3 Comments

A. Banks don't create money of out thin air. They have deposits from people with savings and checking accounts. They loan out this money... China could loan dollars out too. They have a bunch of them from US people buying more chinese goods than chinese buy american goods. good luck! No one can just 'conjure up money'. That isn't the way the systems work.
