What is the series Parks and Recreation about?
Q. I am interested in buying the first season of the NBC series Parks adn Recreation on when it releases on DVD ON September 8th. I just want to know, what is the show about. Also, is it the Office spin off that they've been talking about for a while?

A. The series follows Leslie Knope, the deputy head of the Parks and Recreation department in the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana. Knope takes on a project with a nurse named Ann to turn a construction pit into a park, while trying to mentor a bored college-aged intern. its hilarious youll love it if you like the office. Leslie is so clueless shes like the female version of Micheal on the office.

A. Recreation is what people do in their spare time, what hobbies they have, what they want to do for fun. etc. Recreation also often implies outdoor activities (i.e. the Parks and Recreation Department).

What kind of recreation is there on a Navy Submarine?

A. First off... women do not serve aboard US submarines... yet. So that recreation, while frowned upon if caught, is reserved for shore. The main recreation is sleeping. I Sh!t you not. On SSBNs and SSGNs you have the ability to run in the missile compartment. Workouts are pretty limited otherwise. Bench weights in the torpedo room if you have a spotter and not in an operation that would restrict that activity. My boat had a stationary bike in the torpedo room also. Pullups, situps, etc. for workouts if you call that recreation. Movies. Organized movies in the crew's mess. Guys I work with that have served since I got out had personal DVD players. I had my own personal music player, but there is a common entertainment system wired… [cont.]
